Festival CrowdTeam Message

Whether it’s antics in Wonderland, a rock ‘n’ roll circus extravaganza, primal zydeco beats, performances that transcend language, interactive folktales, or forays into indigenous cultures — be prepared to enter a World of Wonder (W.O.W.).

In an environment of fun and frivolity, performance, visual and literary artists from around the world including France, West Africa, Germany, Japan, Scotland, USA and Canada have gathered to explore cultural traditions, customs and beliefs, and instill pride in our heritage. Get ready to travel with us as we enter a World of Wonder at the 2008 International Children’s Festival.

Roving performers’ hilarious antics provide plenty of fun, smiles and laughter. Perennial favourites return to clown around or pique curiosity about the world around us. Set your imagination free in a multitude of creative hands-on activities, be wowed by the “human fountain”, or simply come down to enjoy the fun and games.

The festival team has been busy creating a line-up with plenty of opportunities to find your W.O.W. factor. We invite the children, adults and families of Northern Alberta to share this magical week. We hope you leave inspired at life’s endless possibilities. Enjoy!

The festival team are honoured to dedicate this year’s festival to the memory of Henry Jans, beloved husband of board member, Louisa Jans and cherished father of Loreena Jans. Henry was an incredible festival supporter and will be fondly remembered as the first person in line at the box office every year. Make 2008 your year to share his love of the festival experience.
