Dream TreeDREAM TREE

Sponsored by St. Albert Centre

Location: Lions Park • Tent #28

Just as people make up the heart of the community, each leaf contributes to the beauty of a tree. The International Children’s Festival invites you to add a leaf to our Festival dream tree. Decorate a leaf, or create one of your own and write down your wish, your dream, your hopes. By the end of the week a beautiful tree, cultivated by you, will have taken root in the heart of the Festival site.

SOUND GARDEN

Cantos Music Foundation Sound Garden

All Ages
Location: Global Canadian Heritage Trail • Tent #16

Make music accessible by using materials and ideas, including everyday found objects and even their own bodies. Stop by and try out a variety of sound-making materials including a Foley interactive station (recreate sound effects for film, television and radio productions), traveling aerophone, various percussion instruments, a playable Theremin and an interactive DJ table.

MONK

Location: Front Plaza

Stop by and visit Monk and make your mark on this community painting project. Monk starts unique collaborative paintings and invites others to contribute a brush stroke or two until the masterpiece is complete. Each participant may also choose to contribute one of their hopes and wishes on the back of the painting. Her subject matter comes primarily from the endless ocean views, idyllic beach scenes, beautiful Vancouver Island coastlines, spectacular old growth forests and timeless totem poles.
