TELUS CYBERTALES® Educational Program
| Sponsored by: |
Once upon a time, imaginative schoolchildren from across Alberta created captivating stories through the TELUS CYBERTALES® Educational Program. Once again, TELUS and the International Children’s Festival are proud to invite teachers and students to participate in the nationally-recognized TELUS CYBERTALES® Program.
Exclusive to the International Children’s Festival, the TELUS CYBERTALES® Program intertwines technology and literary art to allow Alberta’s elementary school students to create an online story with master storyteller Sandy Cooke. Each school registered in the program receives a professionally illustrated, printed and bound keepsake copy of the stories.
Master storyteller Sandy Cooke uses your help in crafting stories. Sandy has begun two “progressive” stories (one each for grades 1–3 and 4–6) that are posted here, on the TELUS CYBERTALES® web page, for schools from across Alberta to view and add their contributions. Sandy now chooses one submission per category every three weeks and posts it as the next segment of the story.
At the end of the program, Sandy will perform all the stories at the Children's Festival (June 1 – 5, 2010)
in the TELUS CYBERTALES® tent.
All participating schools will receive a professionally illustrated, printed and bound copy of the two creative tales.
All participating classes and home schoolers* must first be registered with the Festival in order to contribute to TELUS CYBERTALES®.
Registrations and contributions are submitted as a class project, not on an individual student basis.

A few drops of rain fall and a beautiful rainbow appears. The end of the rainbow touches the grass near the slide. The children notice that this rainbow looks different and then everything starts to change. |
Up Rooted! A mysterious box is unearthed in a freakish storm. Four curious children remove the lid and open themselves to the adventure that not only challenges their strengths and abilities but also the very core of their friendship. |
