TELUS Cybertales® Educational Program
All Ages • Storytelling
Duration: 45 minutes
Location: St. Albert Place Plaza
Beneath the Dragon’s Tale promises plenty of surprises as the classroom pet Sandfire, a bearded dragon, brings a mysterious but powerful dragon stick into his new terrarium home. Unsuspecting classmates find themselves flying, invisible and … you’ll have to wait to see how the story unfolds until you get to the Festival.
POP! Portal of Power, sees four classmates sucked through the glowing school maintenance room wall and return, three with apparent super powers. Will Tess find her super power? How long can they keep this secret? What challenges await? Find out in the TELUS CYBERTALES® tent during the Festival.
Master storyteller Sandy Cooke compiles and performs these original stories created through the nationally recognized TELUS CYBERTALES® Program. Once again, TELUS and the International Children’s Festival invited teachers and their students to participate in this program that combines technology and literary art to allow elementary students to create online.
Curriculum Connections: developing literary skills, writing, vocabulary skills, creative expression, using technology as a medium, critical thinking, exploring and respecting ideas and demonstrating attentive listening.
