Concessionaires Application

The International Children’s Festival will take place May 29 to June 2, 2012 inclusive in St. Albert.

General Information

HOURS OF OPERATION for 2012 vendors:

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM
Thursday:
[Front Plaza only]
9:30 AM to 7 PM
Friday: 9:30 AM to 8PM
Saturday: 9 AM to 5 PM
  • Vendors have until 9 AM (8:30 AM on Saturday) to restock their concession.
  • Dedicated parking is NOT provided for vendors.
  • Vendors must be open and prepared for service for ALL hours of operation as listed above. There are no exceptions.
  • There is a $100 refundable deposit required at the time of application. If the vendor opens on time every day of the Festival, the $100 is refunded.
  • No vendor shall be allowed to remain open after posted closing time.

The Children’s Festival only accepts Food and Beverage Vendor applications. No other type of vendor is allowed on site.

The Children’s Festival is a Green Festival. In association with Waste Management we will be supplying compost and recycling bins for vendors. All vendors must participate in this initiative. Full information will be supplied to accepted vendors.

Please note that styrofoam of any kind will not be allowed at the Festival (this includes cups, plates, bowls). We thank you in advance for your cooperation.

The preferred vendor for the International Children’s Festival is Earth Friendly Distributors.

  • Entry fees: 2 cheques:

    • $500* deposit cheque, dated for today’s date
      *$400 application deposit and the $100 refundable deposit
    • $545 rental cheque dated for May 1, 2012

    • The $400 application deposit is non-refundable if an accepted vendor cancels on or before May 14, 2012.
    • The complete fee is non-refundable if an accepted vendor cancels after May 14, 2012.
    • NSF cheques are subject to a $30 processing fee.
    • We are unable to accept payment by credit card.

    Applications received without cheques will not be processed until cheques have been received.

The deadline for submissions is Tuesday, May 1, 2012.

Submissions will be reviewed and evaluated on the following criteria:

  • Conformance to specifications (valid business license, health inspection certificate, equipment)
  • Type and cost of product (remember, this is a children’s festival)
  • Experience
  • Booth display (photos of your set-up are required)
  • Information on your agreement to participate with the Green initiatives

The allocated space, not to exceed 12’ x 12’ (There may be space exceptions in the Park. It is up to the discretion of the selection committee. Extra charges may apply.) has an entry fee of $900. (This fee includes: water, grey water disposal and electrical, but does not include GST of $54).

A deposit cheque [payable to The City of St. Albert] of $500 is required at the time of application. This includes the refundable $100 late opening deposit.

Vendors will be responsible for set-up on Monday, May 28, 2012 commencing at 9 AM.
Take down begins after 6 PM on Saturday, June 2, 2012.

Location assignments will be determined by the Festival Committee.

The Festival reserves the right to terminate vendor agreements if we feel you have not complied with the
rules and regulations of the Festival. In that case you will not be entitled to the return of any part of your fee. This money will be retained as liquidated damages and not as a penalty.
